Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Deleted Scenes Which Would've Made It Perfect

1. Darth Vader's Castle

I can't lie. Of all of the deleted scenes listed here, this is the one which excites me most as a Star Wars fan. Have you ever wondered what Darth Vader got up to in his spare time or where he called home? Well, Star Wars: The Force Awakens was going to answer that by paying a visit to Darth Vader's castle, a location which was originally designed by Ralph McQuarrie for use in The Empire Strikes Back. However, with the Sith Lord now dead and gone, it would have fallen into disarray and the planet would have essentially become a junk yard. Interestingly though, it was this castle that General Leia would have chosen to turn into the Resistance's base, providing her with an interesting link to her father and no doubt plenty of Easter Eggs in regards to the kind of possessions someone like Vader would surround himself with. Alas, the decision was made to give Maz a castle and this idea was dropped relatively early on in the development process. Abrams really missed a trick here by not playing on Vader's history, so hopefully this is something Episode VIII or IX will circle back to. After all, it would make sense for someone like Supreme Leader Snoke or even Kylo Ren to have tracked down Vader's home for their own sinister means...
