Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Design Secrets You Probably Didn't Know

4. The Quad Jumper Was (Potentially) Almost Rey's Ship

When running away from the attacking TIE fighters at Nima Outpost, Rey’s suggestion of escape ship – a wuadjumper – is destroyed and her and Finn have to use “the garbage” instead.

In the movie itself, that’s all we see of the ship (it was of course expanded in other material, described as a quadrijet transfer spacetug because world-building), but it was originally going to have a more prominent role as the ship of choice for Rey, kept in the belly of her felled AT-AT home. More than just another vehicle, this could have been a really important character element, serving as an early reference to the scavenger's ability to fly all manner of spaceships.

Or, at least, that's one possibility – the concept artist behind the design isn't actually sure if he was instructed to include the ship or simply put it in there for a show of scale. Which is pretty humorous by itself.
