5. Han Had A Wife During His Time With Leia

You can scowl and frown all you want, Solo fans, the now-official comics that bridge various gaps between the films had a rather massive revelation earlier in 2015, where they revealed Han had a wife, Sana Starros. Although timeline-wise the reveal comes before the two would get together in Episode V, it still gives certain parts of Episode VII a bit more meaning. Firstly, the fairly out-of-nowhere comment Han makes to Finn about how "women always find out the truth" could allude to whatever happened between Leia, Han and Sana after her initial introduction post-Return of the Jedi, and the ramifications of trying to make something work with his new love, despite not properly tying off the old. We also know that both Han and Leia had been broken up for quite some time when we see them again in The Force Awakens, quite possibly because the hot-headed Solo refused to clarify his marital status, despite him and Leia growing closer.
