9. Rey Speeds Off On Her Speeder

The Trailer Moment: When Daisy Ridley was cast, there was a strong familial relationship expected, so it came as something of a surprise when the first teaser introduced her in isolated desert garb, here looking like she was on the run. Where Was It? Another image from that first teaser that didn't make into the movie is this shot of Rey jetting off on her Magnum-shaped speeder (the subsequent shot of her flying past towards the town was, just reversed). Where in the movie this came from isn't quite clear - at no point does Rey have to rush using this speeder - so it's likely from some minor deleted sub-plot from early on in the movie. Why it's in the trailer though makes sense - it's the best way to introduce us to just the character without giving up her relationship to BB-8 or the damage-strewn landscape of Jakku (two things that were saved for later in the marketing).
