8. The Extended Jakku Pan

The Trailer Moment: Yeah yeah, Han and Chewie getting home was cool, but nothing is more jaw-dropping in the second teaser than the incredible panning shot of the Jakku landscape with a massive Star Destroyer sticking out of the sand. Where Was It? OK, I know what you're thinking - this shot is in the movie. And you'd be correct, to a point - while we do see Rey speed through the wreckage, we don't get the full shot. The one in the trailer is a second or two longer, starting with the Star Destroyer and X-Wing completely out-of-frame, whereas the movie starts further along. Why these frames were shaved is unclear. It may be to keep things as lean as possible - every second helps in keeping the runtime down - or the full shot may not have had the same majesty as in the trailer when in the movie proper.
