Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Questionable Moments From The Final Trailer

1. The Lack Of Luke Skywalker

Of all the questionable things in Star Wars: The Force Awakens' final trailer, this is probably the most questionable aspect of them all. Which is kind of ironic, given that this point concerns something that wasn't in the trailer as opposed to something that was. That's to say... where's Luke? Where the heck Mark Hamill, who has second billing on the movie and has somehow found himself left out of the final trailer? Whilst it's true that J.J. Abrams is something of a marketing master and really knows how to build expectations when it comes to this sort of thing, it's certainly unnerving to stare upon a final trailer for an Episode VII and there's no Luke Skywalker in sight. Okay, so that guy with the metal arm reaching out to R2-D2 looks a lot like Luke, but it's not a clear that it is. Granted, there are tons and tons of theories doing the rounds with regards to his mysterious absence, some of which are notably insane, claiming that Luke is, in fact, Kylo Ren, whilst others are predicting that the Jedi Knight is actually dead. Whilst none of those explanations are all that convincing (c'mon: he can't be Kylo!), it would be wrong to pretend that the lack of Luke Skywalker isn't just a tad disheartening. J.J. Abrams opted to "forget" Luke on purpose, of course, but his absence still marks the most questionable moment of the final trailer: what in Yoda's name is going on? Like this article?
