Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Questionable Moments From The Final Trailer

10. Daisy Ridley's Accent

The first shocking revelation to come from the final trailer, perhaps, concerns the nature of Daisy Ridley's accent. Which was a tad unexpected, to say the least. Whilst most fans probably assumed that the British actress would adopt an American accent for movie (you know, because only bad guys tend to use British accents in Star Wars - it's kind of a thing), the actress is clearly heard talking in her native tongue. That is, Ridley's accent is of the British kind. Sort of posh. Definitely not American, though. Whilst this isn't a big deal exactly, it seems a little odd that the main character of The Force Awakens - and a potential Skywalker family member - has a British accent. Luke, Leia and Han all have American accents, after all, and whilst it's yet to be confirmed that Rey is actually related to those guys, it seems kind of inevitable that she is. The movie may or may not ultimately provide an explanation with regards to Rey's accent, but there's no denying that hearing her voice prompted a moment of "Huh? Really?"
