Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Questionable Moments From The Final Trailer

8. That Moment Of Lens Flare

There's no denying it, people; you can't shield your eyes from this one. Against the odds, there's a moment of very noticeable lens flare in Star Wars: The Force Awakens' final trailer. And whilst writer/director J.J. Abrams told fans that he'd try to keep his most criticised trademark to a minimum, it's kind of telling - and a bit hilarious - that some of it still ended up in the final trailer. Almost as if Abrams couldn't help himself and was unable to cut a trailer without including just a little bit of lens flare ("Come on, guys! One flash!"). Abrams' Star Trek movies were plastered from head to toe in lens flare, of course, as the director presumably set out to create the shiniest future ever convinced in cinema. The galaxy of Star Wars isn't a shiny one, though; it's battered and old and used. It has been lived in and worn down. So whilst a single moment of lens flare in the trailer doesn't prove that Abrams has gone overboard with the stuff, it still provokes a very minor anxiety.
