Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 10 Things Everybody Missed In The New Trailer

8. Kylo Ren's On The Same Planet As Luke

There's much contention as to whether Luke Skywalker is actually in the second teaser - his voice is definitely heard (and it's worth pointing out that it's a totally new recording of the iconic line, not just lifted from Return Of The Jedi), but it's unclear if the cloaked figure who rests their mechanical hand on R2-D2 is actually the Jedi Master. Still, given the general content, it's a safe bet. What is certain is that this isn't the only time you see that lava planet in the teaser (whether or not this is Mustafaar isn't made clear yet, but a perceived obsession with Anakin's past means it very well could be). The second shot of Kylo Ren in the trailer, which sees him turn around with a purposeful Force push and give the world their first in-movie look at his Darth Revan-aping mask, is so quick it's hard to actually tell what's going on in the background, but you can clearly seen he's on the same orange world as R2's companion. What does this mean? Well, there's two takeaways. The simple one is that Luke and Kylo Ren are on the same planet. The more complex is that those two Force users are narratively linked - working against each other, together or (and this is where we enter rampant speculation) one and the same.
