11. Meet Bobbajo

By far one of the best things about Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the fact that the movie is ditching the special effects which plagued the prequels. While CGI is inevitably going to factor into a release as big as this one, J.J. Abrams has made a real effort to bring back the feel of the original trilogy, and that's included creating some very unique aliens practically rather than through a computer screen. One of the first of those to be revealed at an early stage in production was Babbajo, and yes, there really is an actor inside that costume (his head can concealed by the creature in that middle cage). "He was envisaged as this sort of seller who would lumber his way to the market every day, selling these rather weird and strange creatures, which he had in the cages," says Neal Scanlan, who was in charge of Star Wars: The Force Awakens' creature shop. "He's very slow, he's very laid back."
