5. The Significance Of Rey's Staff
Some are convinced that Rey is going to be revealed as a Jedi, while others believe that she'll end up taking a turn to the Dark Side by the time the credits roll. Something which has been supporting the latter theory is the fact that her staff resembles the lightsaber of Darth Plagueis, the Sith Lord who was the Emperor's master when he was better known as Darth Sidious. Alas, Daisy Ridley has denied that (though he's hardly going to confirm it) by making it clear that Rey's staff is just a staff, something which ultimately makes a lot more sense. "I mean everyone is praying that its Darth Plagueiss staff. But... its just a staff," the actress laughed. "Shes a young woman in a galaxy by herself. Its not primarily a weapon, its useful as well. It does all sorts of things roamin around Jakku. She uses it to defend herself. Thats really as far as it goes, unfortunately. Its just a plain old staff!"
