22. Kelvin Ridge

JJ Abrams is well know for having his favourite references, and he's included one very personal one that sneaks into almost all of his productions. As Rey tells BB-8 how to stay safe at the start of the film (and attempts to banish him), she instructs him to "stay off Kelvin Ridge" (according to Hitfix). That's a nod back to Abrams' grandfather, a film-maker who was a big influence on him. He's been referenced so far in Star Trek (the USS Kelvin); in Lost (Clancy Brown's character Kelvin Joe Inman); in Fringe as Kelvin Genetics; in Mission: Impossible III on a postcard Ethan Hunt receives and in Super 8 it's the name of a gas station. Abrams also has a couple of other personal Eggs in there: as well as giving Michael Giacchino an unseen cameo, he also cast Lost alumni Greg Grunberg and Ken Leung. There's no confirmation of his other favourite tics - like including The Dharma Initiative somehow - but expect them to be uncovered after multiple viewings.
