That shot in the "final" trailer where she's being pursued by Kylo Ren (which she called her "most frightening" experience on set) may look pretty perilous for Rey, but as long suspected, it appears she will be back for the sequel. The Evidence As far back as August 2014, Deadline were reporting that the plan was to have Rey continue throughout the entire trilogy as the "new Luke Skywalker", which always made a lot of sense. Now there's a little more evidence that she's back for Episode VIIII, as she did let slip that she's spoken to Rian Johnson.
