4. He's Hunting Down Vader-Related Items

We know very little of what the motivations of any of the villainous characters in The Force Awakens are, but this goes double for Kylo Ren - he's been prominent in all the trailers, menacing Resistance scum and causing endless fan debate thanks to his crossguard lightsaber, but why exactly isn't clear. What we do know is that one of his key goals is collecting bits from Vader's past - he already has the charred helmet, which he chats with Norman Bates style, and from very early on it's been clear that Anakin (later Luke's) lightsaber will be a key Macguffin, possibly even the entire motivation for the First Order's hunting down of Finn and Rey. Although that's not the only thing the character's are searching for; just like many fans following his absence from the trailer, it's looking like the film's plot will be motivated by the hunt for Luke Skywalker.
