Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 7 Big Questions About Rey That Need Answering

2. Or Even A Villain?

While Rey definitely seems to be starting out as one of the heroes of the film, there’s nothing to say that she has to stay that way. Could she be persuaded to join the dark side? Time for some speculation!

If the theory of her and Kylo Ren being siblings comes to pass, then he could convince her to join him in serving the First Order (as Ren presumably does). We've seen siblings in the Star Wars universe before, and this would provide a mirror to the relationship of Luke and Leia (including the names.

Alternatively, if she is able to use the Force then either Ren or someone else - The General, Supreme Leader Snoke, or whomever it is the is leading the First Order - could persuade her to switch allegiances. It certainly wouldn't be the first time that has happened with a major character. Then again, there's always the possibility she’s working for the forces of evil all along, and is simply pretending to help Finn in order to use him to track down Luke Skywalker. It might seem like a bit of a stretch, but Star Wars loves a good plot twist, and this would certainly be one.
