After reading through the theories listed here, you're no doubt wondering what makes the simplest one so strange. A lot of fans feel that any Snoke reveal would be mistake because it's what fans are expecting and forcibly tying him to a character from the past will feel cheap, but in just as many ways, not doing so would be worse. Snoke being Snoke is... well, kind of boring actually. While it would certainly be interesting for the big bad of this trilogy to be an original creation, Snoke having no sort of connection to a well known character would feel massively underwhelming, and so the surprisingly popular theory and argument that Snoke is someone new (albeit with an awful lot of history in this world) is a hard pill to swallow, and something it's tough to believe Lucasfilm will end up doing. The simplest suggestion may sometimes be the most obvious one, but Snoke being Snoke would be a "reveal" guaranteed to surprise fans for all the wrong reasons. It's just going to end up falling flat, and so the theory which goes against pretty much all the others here - which are obviously all pretty nuts - is perhaps the craziest and worst of them all. As a result, we're left more in the dark than ever about who he really is... Who do you think Snoke is? Share your own theories down in the comments.
