8. Han And Leias Relationship Status
Well, at least there was a first look for Princess (Queen?) Leia. If only for a brief second, we did get to see her cling to Han Solo, but this offered very little concerning where the two characters relationship stands. With all of the questions surrounding plot details, this remains one of the more prominent, yet unanswered ones.
Thirty years is a long time, and whether theyre happily married or bitterly separated will have a huge impact on their character arcs in the new films.
The way she embraces him would certainly suggest that they're still together but her expression doesn't exactly read as romantic. Conceivably, even if they're not in a relationship, they could still be close friends which could explain this, but for all we know, this is Leia seeing Han for the first time in years. Alternatively, perhaps she just doesn't want him to leave, or maybe she's grieving the recent loss of a friend.
There's infinite possibilities for why she's leaning into him like this and without context, it's impossible to say definitively that this proves they're together.
No matter the case, its clear the marketing doesnt need to rely on Leias inclusion or her relationship with Han in order to sell the movie. Nevertheless, their romantic past could come in to play in a big way, especially if their children are involved...
