Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 8 Set Leaks Which Left J.J. Abrams Fuming

4. A Glimpse At Supreme Leader Snoke

One of the site's responsible for leaking almost all of the concept art from Star Wars: The Force Awakens just this week unearthed another piece with perhaps the biggest reveal from the movie to date. Up until now, Andy Serkis' Supreme Leader Snoke has been a mystery; we know he's in charge of The First Order and that he narrated the teaser trailer, but that's it. While the above piece has been described as an early design (one of many in fact), it still offers up an idea of how the motion capture creation is going to look. Regardless of whether or not the final version has this snake like appearance, it's become apparent that he'll be a creature, and that opens the door to lots of new questions; just who is Snoke and how is he tied to Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine? That's a question which is unlikely to be answered until December 17th, but Serkis dropped some very interesting hints in a recent interview about the villain. Confirming that he's not a character who has previously appeared in a Star Wars movie, the actor went on to confirm that Snoke is well aware of what happened in the past and stated that he could never have played him without motion capture. Apparently, that's down to him being so large and having an "extreme" facial design which, "has a very distinctive, idiosyncratic bone structure and facial structure." If the artwork above is any indication, it's easy to see what he means!
