Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 8 Things We've Learned Since Release

3. It Brought Back Some Familiar Voices In Hard To Spot Places

By now you're probably well aware that Daniel Craig suited up as a Stormtrooper and that both Ewan McGregor and Frank Oz were brought in to record lines of dialogue for Rey's flashbacks, but what you probably didn't realise is that Star Wars: The Force Awakens drafted in some other familiar voices from the franchise. If you stuck around during the credits, you no doubt saw some of these credited as "Additional Voices." Well, StarWars.com recently shed some light on those by revealing where actors from The Clone Wars animated series showed up. Matt Lanter (Anakin) and James Arnold Taylor (Obi-Wan) both played Stormtroopers, while Catherine Taber (Padme) voiced a Hangar Control Center Officer. Sam Witwer (Darth Maul) meanwhile lent his vocals to several different Stormtroopers and a PA announcer on the Star Destroyer. That barely scratches the surface as it's such an extensive list, though you may be interested to know that internet fan-favourite TR-8R - as he's been named by fans - was voiced by David Acord (Rabbit Droid). Star Wars fanboy Kevin Smith also landed himself a decent enough part; just listen out for the Stormtrooper who at some point shouts "We have incoming at 28.6! Move!" and that is indeed the Clerks creator.
