Star Wars: The Force Awakens Vs The Last Jedi - Which Is Better?

It's fair to say that both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi are, at the very least, worthwhile entries in the Star Wars saga. Both films have their flaws, of course... whereas The Force Awakens was criticised for playing it too safe, The Last Jedi has been called out for its attempts to shake things up.
Time to tally up the results and see which of these films scored the highest...
Winner: Scoring a possible eight points out of twelve, The Force Awakens has prevailed. Given that it's more entertaining, coherent, funny, and doesn't feature Benicio del Toro's terrible, terrible excuse for a character, it's not really a surprise that J.J. Abrams' picture has emerged victorious.
It seems necessary, then, for Episode IX to find a way to bridge the gap between the nostalgia of Episode VII and the risk-taking of Episode VIII. Now that J.J. Abrams is set to take the reins once more, here's hoping he's able to find that sweet spot fans are looking for, thus bringing balance to the Force once and for all.
