Star Wars: The High Republic - Everything We Know So Far

3. Hints Have Already Been Dropped

As the High Republic project has been in the works for some time now, and with the creative teams having a pre-existing catalogue of Star Wars work behind them, past experiences were always likely to inform future stories.

It is for this reason that, if you look closely, you can spot some High Republic DNA in existing Star Wars stories.

Adding to the Master and Apprentice example given earlier, the Del Rey published Dooku: Jedi Lost tells of Master Yoda's visit to the Jedi archives when, upon passing a bronzium bust of a Jedi Master named "Trennis", he remarks to his Younglings how sad her loss was to the order (Trennis was one of the "Lost Twenty" Jedi among which Dooku himself would one day be counted).

Cut to the High Republic comics, and we have confirmation of a character named "Keeve Trennis", though no definitive clarification has been made to whether they are indeed one and the same.

They do, however, have one other thing in common - writer Cavan Scott is responsible for both. (Interesting...)

Another huge harbinger was Marvel's The Rise of Kylo Ren comic, in which Lor San Tekka (The Force Awakens) directly references the High Republic by name.
