11. Will Luke Return As A Force Ghost?

The Question: After Luke becomes a Force ghost at the end of the movie, is this the end of his character arc in the Star Wars franchise, or will he return as a ghost in Episode IX?

The Likely Answer: It's hard to believe any filmmaker could be restrained enough not to bring Luke back in the next movie, and while he hopefully won't have a huge role that undermines his demise, showing up at the end with some words of encouragement for Rey wouldn't go amiss.

Unless Mark Hamill dies in the next year, Heaven forbid, there's no way Luke won't have some sort of role in the film, and considering he promised Kylo Ren he'd pester him until the end of time if he died, he's pretty much duty-bound to show up again.
