2. Leia Lives

Though we were told before the film's release that we weren't going to see the death of Leia on screen in The Last Jedi, getting to the end of the film without something in the story reflecting the fact that she presumably cannot be in Episode IX was still something of a shock.

Now, we're all faced with the same question that met Carrie Fisher's sad death: what do Episode IX's writers do with Leia to both respectfully and satisfyingly write the end of her story?

It's particularly odd that they didn't choose to slightly alter the film to have her killed when Kylo Ren attacks her ship and she's blown out into space. The way that scene was framed would have been a beautiful end for Leia, but the reality is that the revelation of her impressive Force powers simply opens up more loose ends that Episode IX can't hope to tie up.
