Star Wars: The Last Jedi - 8 Fan Theories That Make Appalling Sense

1. Snoke Had A Hand In Vader's Creation

The Theory

Every Star Wars fans' favourite hobby since The Force Awakens is speculating endlessly about the true identity of the film's big bad, Supreme Leader Snoke.

One of the most popular fan theories pegged him as Darth Plagueis, Emperor Palpatine's Midi-chlorian-manipulating master, but such claims appear to have been debunked by Pablo Hidalgo of the Lucasfilm Story Group.

Another school of thought positions him as Darth Vader's father, and thus Luke's grandfather, and there may be a nugget of truth in there somewhere.

The Evidence

Fans jumped on this bandwagon following reports of a script leak from the Last Jedi camp, as highlighted here by the Express.

One of the scenes depicted features a meeting between Luke Skywalker and Snoke, in which the villain says he has met the Jedi's father.

“After all, what father doesn’t see his own creation,” he says.

Although the leak is unverified, we're totally buying a connection between Luke, Vader and Snoke. Not necessarily a familial tie, but is it such a stretch to believe he had a hand in Anakin's conception?

According to Schmi Skywalker in Episode I, Vader was conceived via Midi-chlorians (ugh, thanks for that one, George Lucas) - but hopefully The Last Jedi will elaborate on this and perhaps add Snoke to the equation as a bonus twist.
