17. Let The Past Die
Back yet again to Kylo Ren (as mentioned, the focus is really on the triumvirate of Force-users), and he's talking about letting the past die.
'The past' is something that's weighed heavily on Kylo Ren, as he's attempted to leave behind Ben Solo - and with that identity, his parents Han and Leia - and yet he's also massively reverential to the memory of his grandfather.
Here, though, it seems even that might be a bit too much. As he says "let the past die" he smashes his Vader-inspired helmet, suggesting he's looking to become his own person as he continues to struggle between Light and Dark. Also, now that his identity is out there and he's a got a huge scar to show-off (chicks dig scars, right Lance Murdock?), wearing the mask isn't as much of an issue.
