Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

3. Rey

The new hero of the saga, Rey's story picks up right where it left off at the end of The Force Awakens, but not in the ways she expected it too. He's a reluctant master who now believes the Jedi should end, and that only serves to propel the conflict within her as she develops her connection to the Force.

It's hard to talk about Rey's story without mentioning Kylo Ren's too, because they're very intertwined, and the way that's explored is a highlight of the whole film.

Ridley still possesses some of that Luke-esque idealism, but her Rey is wiser and stronger this time around too. She's not the strongest performer in the cast, but is a perfect fit for the character of Rey, and does a great job of conveying her longing for identity and understanding, as well as the struggle between light and dark that exists within her.
