It's almost impossible to view Leia's scenes in this movie without the lens of Carrie Fisher's death, which hangs over her moments and gives them all an additional emotional heft.

Trying to set that aside though, Leia here is once again a figure of inspiration for the Resistance, the bravest of souls and a true leader, and one who does all that with a side of dryly cutting humour for good measure.

This will be the final Star Wars movie we ever get to see Leia in, and while it's a shame we won't get to see her in Episode IX - because of Fisher's death, not any spoilery reasons - it's a strong final showing for a true great of the saga.
