2. The Great Mystery Of Luke's Lines

You can understand why Luke Skywalker would want to end the Jedi - because as long as there is light, there will be murderous dark to balance it - but the very idea of such a pillar of the entire Star Wars mythology being pulled apart will be a difficult one for a lot of fans to accept. Even more importantly, it's the single biggest thing that Star Wars fans will han their hype on.

That one immediately irresistible line inspires a lot of theories - like Luke being a Gray Jedi, or turning to the Dark Side, or discovering some grim truth in the origins of the Jedi - and stunningly, even flirting with Luke destroying the Jedi is on the same sort of level as the introduction of Midichlorians.

In short, this is all very confusing and in a delicious sort of way, even if removing a brand element like the Jedi is akin to removing Batman's parents being killed. It's bold and terrifying as well as being one of the most interesting developments in recent Star Wars history.
