Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker - 10 Reasons To Be Worried
8. Unresolved Plot Threads
It’s probably fair to assume that many plot threads introduced in this trilogy will be unresolved.
J.J. Abrams planted many threads in The Force Awakens, such as how Luke's lightsaber ended up in Maz Kanata's possession.
"A good question... for another time," she said. Also, who was Snoke and what was his motivation? Where did Finn come from? Who are the Knights of Ren? What's Captain Phasma's deal?
We were interested in getting answers, but J.J. Abrams sure wasn't interested in giving them, nor was Rian Johnson. The Last Jedi ignored most of these questions, and unceremoniously killed off Snoke and Captain Phasma (how did she even escape Starkiller Base before it blew up?).
Doesn't matter who they were, apparently, they're dead now.
The Last Jedi not only ignored threads from The Force Awakens, but left a few more in its wake, like, what's the deal with Benicio del Toro's character, whatever his name was? And what was with Admiral Holdo not telling Poe her plan?
The Rise of Skywalker might finally give some answers to threads from The Force Awakens, but most plot threads will likely be ignored or forgotten. What a waste.
