If that assessment about Abrams undoing some of Johnson's story decisions and implementing his original ideas is true, then the trailer might have just given us a big hint about what one of those ideas is.

In the middle of the trailer we're shown a quick shot of a ship approaching a settlement at night. This looks like your typical Star Wars-y setting and your typical Star Wars-y ship (this one resembles an A-wing), but one interesting thing to note is that the ship looks remarkably similar to the one that left Rey on Jakku, which we first saw during a flashback scene in The Force Awakens.

Notice the dual blue jets at the back, and that distinct shape.

Could The Rise Of Skywalker be revisiting the Rey's parents plot thread, retconning The Last Jedi's reveal about her family? Remember, it was Kylo - hardly a reliable source of information - who told Rey her parents were nobodies, so this would be an easy narrative choice to alter in the new film.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
