It feels like it's been forever coming, but Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is finally here.
To the surprise of most, critical reviews for the "final" entry into the Skywalker Saga have been heavily mixed so far, and the initial fan response has similarly proved intensely divisive.
But for long-time fans of Star Wars, it is certainly an attempt by J.J. Abrams to create as crowd-pleasing a movie as possible - often while working against its own dramatic interests, admittedly.
For Easter egg hunters, this film is an absolute goldmine, jam-packed with callbacks to prior movies, sneaky references only the hardcore fans have a hope of catching, and everything else in-between.
It's an incredibly fast-moving, densely-packed film, and while perhaps not as satisfying an end to this nine-film story as many hoped for, nevertheless offers up plenty of nostalgic nourishment for fans.
