18. The Dark Side Cave

Rey and co. eventually make it to the ocean moon of Kef Bir, where the dilapidated wreckage of the Death Star resides.

Rey forges ahead on her own and, upon reaching the Death Star, enters a pitch black room where she faces off against a Dark Side version of herself.

This finally confirmed the context of that bizarre trailer image of Rey kitted out in Sith garb, and more to the point, serves as an homage to the Dark Side cave scene from The Empire Strikes Back, where Luke decapitates a vision of Vader to find his own severed head within it.

Sadly this new riff on the same concept isn't nearly as scary or interesting, and like much of the film, just feels a bit perfunctory and rushed.
