Those hoping to learn much more about Snoke (Andy Serkis) after his unceremonious demise in The Last Jedi were mostly out of luck here, though Palpatine did provide a few quick morsels of context for fans.

During his introductory sequence, Palps tells Kylo Ren that he was behind the creation of Snoke all along, and we catch a brief glimpse at several green tanks which appear to house clones of Snoke.

The obvious implication is that the Snoke we knew was just one of many potentials, an experiment by Palpatine to allow him to puppeteer the galaxy from the shadows.
