2. Babu Frik Already Looks Iffy

There are lots of new things - or important, under-developed things we're all excited to see still in this trilogy - that could have been in this trailer and it's nice that some actually is included. But we don't get to see some of the new characters, we don't get to see some of the old characters and we don't get to see key elements like the Sith Troopers or the Knights Of Ren, which might have been easy sells without giving anything much away.

So the fact that we get to see new character Babu Frik in there is a bit of a headscratcher. And forgive an old man his cynicism, but the diminutive alien mechanic - who clearly performs a hack on C-3PO that leads to his new red eye look as seen in the previous trailer looks like he belongs in the same category of characters as the Porgs, Sebulba and Jar Jar Binks. The category marked Annoyances.

He looks, immediately, like a Toy Soldiers character whose inclusion might be very cynically aimed at getting a very particular reaction out of the fanbase. And when you can see the rabbit being stuffed into the hat before the magic trick, that always tends to compromise the reveal.
