Stephen King: Ranking His Films From Worst To Best
28. Dolan's Cadillac
It's been quite a few years since there's been a really big, well received Stephen King adaptation. Perhaps that'll change when his zombie mobile phone novel Cell hits the big screen, starring John Cusack and Samuel L Jackson, later this year. In the meantime, his more obscure work continues to be mined for obscure films. Dolan's Cadillac is a King story even more unknown than most, although the film does boast some genuine talent. The short story of the same name was more of a straight crime thriller, as a teacher who plots revenge on the mob boss who killed his wife years ago. It's a pretty gripping premise, and one that both the short story and film fully deliver on. It's just that the film isn't presented with any sort of finesse by director Jeff Beesley, and even some game performances by Wes Bentley as the teacher and Christian Slater as the criminal can't save it.
