Stuntman Tragically Dies On Set Of THE EXPENDABLES 2

Another stuntman was left seriously injured in hospital from an incident on the Bulgarian set.

Tragey has hit the Bulgarian set of The Expendables 2 where an accident last night (Thursday October 27th) has resulted in the death of a stuntman. Another stuntman was left seriously injured in hospital. The Sofia Echo reports that the accident happened on the Ognyanovo dam near Elin Pelin where a stunt involving an explosion was being performed in a rubber boat. The stunt was being shot by a second film unit crew, whilst the main unit (presumably involving Sylvester Stallone and the top billing actors) was filming two and a half hours away in Bansko. The injured stuntman was operated on for five hours and at the time of writing is still unconscious but said to be in a stable condition. Nu Image/Millennium Films confirmed the tragedy;
"It is with great regret that we confirm this unfortunate accident. Our hearts go out to the families and those on the production affected by this tragedy. The filmmakers are working closely with the authorities in responding to and investigating this accident."
The Expendables 2 was expect to conclude filming in December for a release on August 17th, 2012.
