Suicide Squad: 10 Past Jokers Way Worse Than Jared Leto's
2. "The Batman" Joker
After the innovative, cyber punk "Batman Beyond" ended its run in 2001, fans were eager to see a three year Bat drought conclude when the WB aired "The Batman" in September 2004. The series had its peaks and valleys for sure but the undeniable standout of the series was the insane, psychedelic, Rastafarian ape creature known as...The Joker? Huh? While "The Batman" was undoubtedly focused on creating a new line of merchandise to market to a young demographic, the creative license taken with the Joker is one of the most criticized in history. The spiral design straight jacket was a new, if unnecessary twist. The hair would be a better fit for Sideshow Bob. The teeth came straight from the Bond villain "Jaws". The ape like posture and movements were an awkward addition. While Joker eventually found his purple suit during the show's five seasons, he didn't manage to find his shoes. At best, this version could have been an "Elseworlds" character. As a canonical Joker, he didn't cut the mustard.
