Suicide Squad: 10 Reasons It Will Save The DC Cinematic Universe
6. It Beats The Sinister Six To It
Super-villain movies are like big-screen versions of Quicksilver - you wait fifteen years for one, and then two come along at once. Suicide Squad is the anti-hero flick everyone's talking about now, but don't forget that Sony are still trying to get their Spidey-verse kick-started, with The Sinister Six next in line. However, in a move akin to them beating Marvel to the punch with sorcery, DC are set to unleash their villain team before the web-crawler's. Information on Drew Goddard's movie has been thin on the ground, with next-to-nothing confirmed, which is pretty embarrassing considering The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was essentially an extended trailer for it. It's looking likely that Sony won't even get around making these later Spider-Man movies, with the studio fumbling as it falls ever-behind the times. Learning DC are doing a film almost exactly identical to theirs, only with a pre-existing logic to why the villains team-up, may even be the thing that finally motivates them to rethink their plans. But if they do keep going, Warner Bros. can sit happy knowing they got there first.
