It was just as shooting kicked off that we got our first look at Task Force X, although what everyone was really clamouring to see was Jared Leto's Joker. Ayer held back, instead eventually showing off the new Clown Prince of Crime to celebrate the character's 75th anniversary. And it's fair to say the chaos that ensued would have made Mr J very happy.

I really didn't like it at the time, and being honest am still iffy on that image, but now over a year removed from the initial reaction, I will concede it was a pretty damn smart movie; there's a lot of controversial elements within the design - the tattoos especially, but even more logical elements like the grill have been contentious - so getting it out there so swiftly meant people were past that incredibly early on.

When we got to the trailers, people were hungry to see more, rather than still nit-picking over the design. Now we near release, everyone's pretty excited to see what the actor's got in store.
