There's actually been a couple of Justice League and Suicide Squad stories, the two biggest are the Suicide Squad versus Justice League International and the DC Rebirth limited series that released the other year.

The Justice League International story is fairly basic. A member of the Suicide Squad is captured by the Russian government, and the JLI are sent to handle the situation. Rick Flag defies orders and takes the team to try and rescue their ally. The two teams then go at it, with an iconic moment being Batman and Rick Flag fighting even after the bell rings and the teams have made peace. Their allies actually have to pull them apart which is pretty epic in its own right.

The DC Rebirth story is much more oriented on the Suicide Squad, with the Justice League there almost as a reaction more than as major players. The Suicide Squad come into conflict with the League when they accidentally get sent to the same mission, which causes them to squabble more than fight. A virus then starts to turn everyone aggressive and that's the when the titular battle goes down. As with most versus stories though, they have to team up by the end against a new team of baddies led by Maxwell Lord - a villain who was originally meant to star in Justice League: Mortal.
