Suicide Squad: 6 Major Spoilers Jared Leto May Have Revealed About His Joker

2. The Joker May Have "Killed" Batman

Jared Leto is clearly looking to make an impact as the DC Extended Universe's Joker, and so it makes sense that he's committing to the villain in a major way. That includes staying in character, and his co-stars have confirmed in a number of interviews that he's freaked them out on set as a result. He's even kept the green hair while away from the set, an interesting decision when it's so noticeable. More importantly, if you've been paying close attention to his various social media accounts, Leto has been teasing and spoiling things about The Joker since long before that first official image was released. He revealed his new green locks before the studio had chance to, has sent out plenty of weird Snapchat images in character, and even debuted his Joker voice - testing it out perhaps? - at one of his concerts! Potentially the biggest spoiler he's dropped to date was during a chat to one fan on Vyrt. "You€™re reminding me of Batman, unseen hero!" he told them before adding, "Batman is dead." Say what?! This has led to speculation that the world will think Batman is dead when the events of Batman V Superman kick off, a theory supported by rumours of the Caped Crusader becoming reclusive and disappearing after the deaths of Robin and Commissioner Gordon. Seeing as Batman has been operating in Gotham City for as long as two decades, him suddenly vanishing (even if it's only been months) would no doubt lead many to believe he'd fallen in battle. Having his "final" fight be against The Joker before retiring due to some sort of tragedy makes sense, as does the Clown Prince of Crime later deciding to break out of prison when he learns that his nemesis has returned to action to take on Superman. That's actually fairly similar to what happened in The Dark Knight Returns.
