Suicide Squad: 8 Plot Twists No One Will See Coming

1. Harley Quinn, Batman's Former Flame?

Piecing together set photos, official stills, and that excellent Comic-Con trailer, working out Harley Quinn's origin story is simple enough. The Joker performs electroconvulsive therapy on Dr. Harleen Quinzel to mentally break her and transform her into Harley Quinn. That's a horrifying parallel to what took place in the comics, but something which would do a good job of emphasising how evil this Joker is. It also adds some tragedy to the story of Harley, but that could be increased by making Harleen a love interest of Bruce Wayne. This makes his relationship with The Joker even more twisted and personal, and the shock on the Caped Crusader's face when he chases them down in that car and realises what The Clown Prince of Crime has done to his girlfriend would be a powerful and shocking moment. Harleen and Bruce don't have a connection in the comics, but as that version actually made a conscious decision to give up her life as a doctor and become Harley Quinn, it's clear that this movie is taking the character in a very different direction. As a result, giving her and Batman some sort of shared history in Suicide Squad would go a long way in making her transformation all the more tragic and upsetting when it comes. Do you think any of these Suicide Squad twists are actually possible? Share your speculation down in the comments.
