A reason that Amanda Waller establishes Task Force X is because of the growing threat to humanity, with the risk that the next superpowered being to come to Earth may not share their ideals in the way Superman did.

While all that amounts to in this movie is Enchantress, it does hint at the larger world at play here, and the greater threats that will be coming to the DCEU for the members of the Justice League to fight.

Superman is referred to as a false God, and two 'New Gods' are expected to be making their way to the Extended Universe in the future: Steppenwolf and Darkseid. The former is set to play a part as a major villain in Justice League, with Darkseid then probably set up for the sequel to it. The growing threats are teased here, compounded by the fact Bruce Wayne appears, and it's something that Warner Bros. could really do with getting right in the future films.
