Super Bowl 2019: Ranking Every Trailer From Worst To Best

6. Toy Story 4

Disney and Pixar have become increasingly great in the last few years at selling a film to an audience without ever having to reveal hardly anything about the actual bulk of the film. They sold Frozen to audiences based on an ad solely focused on Olaf and Sven fighting over a carrot, something that doesn't even happen in the actual movie. They sold Incredibles 2 almost entirely with Jack-Jack b-roll. Toy Story 4 looks to be proudly continuing this tradition and its Super Bowl ad is a perfect example of how effective it is.

In the span of a mere forty seconds, the ad immediately hits viewers with a wallop of nostalgia thanks to the use of "You've Got a Friend In Me". It then offers a brief look at Woody and the newly-redesigned Bo Peep, before spending the rest of its time focusing on Buzz being strung up at a carnival game while Key and Peele make fun of him.

It's a well-made spot that is able to quickly and efficiently sell the film to audiences both old and young based on nostalgia and character alone.
