Superman: Ranking All Lois Lane Performances - Worst To Best

6. Amy Adams - Man Of Steel

There may not be a more pure actress for Lois Lane than Amy Adams. The Golden-Globe winning actress is just one of the gifted actors involved in the Zack Snyder reboot, and even though she could have potentially been overshadowed by the likes of Henry Cavill's Superman or Diane Lane's Martha Kent, Adams was the perfect spark that the film needed. It's a rather dark and diluted film, but Adams is a resolute and determined version of Lois, driven by her desire for the truth. While she's fighting for truth, Superman is picking up the American way part of the deal. The dark shadow that looms over the film is balanced wonderfully by Adams, as she infuses her Lois with a real sense of purpose. Adams takes a very clear and direct approach to Lois, perfectly complimenting the post-9/11 world that the film embraces. She's the other side of Superman's own fight against the corruption in Metropolis, and soon becomes intertwined in the alien side of things. While the complaints about the film being humorless are potentially valid, the Amy Adams vision of Lois Lane never falls victim to these dark tenancies, which she plays beautifully.
