9. The Release Date
Clear your calendars now for 17th of July 2015! The release date has long since been confirmed, and Warners have given themselves enough time to script, film and edit without having to push it back, unless something disastrous happens of course. The studio has been canny in choosing their date, which is the same on both sides of the Atlantic, following as it does the minor lull period following the Independence Day celebrations. The film should have the field to itself following the traditional glut of films that arrive to capitalise on the holiday. This is not especially a concern to anybody other than the bean counters at the studio, but it does promise that Warners are looking at this film as their major release of Summer 2015, which hints at a large budget hoping to be recouped. The recent Nolan Dark Knight trilogy and Man of Steel were all visually spectacular though gritty, so here's hoping for more of the same, though this writer would like a splash of colour to go with the dank-maybe I'm being greedy... 2015 is looking up to be a fantastic, jam-packed year for film with the release of The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Jurassic World, Ant Man, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 and Star Wars VII all taking up column inches in the movie press already. Superman vs. Batman is the most anticipated release and deservedly so.
