SXSW 2022: 20 Movies You Need To Know About

2. The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent

Spin Me Round
Lionsgate

As much as we all wanted a movie where Nicolas Cage plays himself to be good, there was every possibility that The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent would simply end up a big 'ol mess that leaned far too heavily on the memeification of Cage without a strong script to back it up.

Thankfully that's not the case at all, as to date the film rocks a "perfect" 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics roundly praising its ability to both make fun of Cage's wild life and career and also celebrate his singular talent.

Cage is certainly game for the task and clearly relishes undertaking such a bizarre assignment, paired opposite an equally brilliant Pedro Pascal for a buddy-action movie quite unlike any that's ever been made before.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent releases on April 22.
