Tag Review: 6 Ups & 3 Downs

2. It Doesn't Make The Most Of Its Hilarious Premise

Tag 2018
Warner Bros.

Tag has one of the best premises for a mainstream comedy movie in quite some time, so it's a bit of a shame that the script doesn't take full advantage of it.

On paper, it's a killer concept, but it simply isn't elevated to the next level in execution, ensuring it falls short of comedy gold status and settles for merely being an easy, entertaining time at the movies.

There's clearly a ton of mileage to be mined out of a group of adults playing tag, but it ultimately feels like it could've been taken so much further, especially with the movie's R-rating and cracking cast.
