Creative types kind of get a free pass when it comes to crazy. We're not just talking about the actors (though they definitely do), but novelists, artists and movie directors, especially, are universally high-fived for their willingness to go berserk and act insane if they're not hurting anybody else. "He's a genius, so who cares?" somebody might say, and as far as the general consensus will have it, that's absolutely right. And his recent outburst on Channel 4's news program over a question about gun violence showed somebody at the end of their tether and presumably tired with doing months of press and responding to the same irritating questions over and over again.
