Teaser Trailer: PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2
What do you call a movie that took $15,000 to make and then went on to rake in just under $200million worldwide? "A massive financial success", naturally. I emphasize on the word "financial" because that's completely the driving force behind Paranormal Activity 2 (Oct, Paramount), the inevitable sequel to last year's huge horror sleeper hit. The teaser just went online on the film's official website, and it's slightly creepy but only in 'the crazy haired old woman who lives in that creaky old house at the end of the street' kind of way, and not 'the hide under covers because this it's going to get me' kind of way... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qt_002jXjs I'm sure a lot of you enjoyed Paranormal Activity and I know tons of people were scared out of their pants last year while watching it. I'll give it due credit by saying it was very eerie and very tactfully shot but is a sequel really necessary? Like I said, when the profit margin blows the roof wide open, then necessary or not, studios are going to milk that cash cow for all it's worth. Paranormal Activity 2 is directed by Tod Williams (The Door In The Floor) and television writer Michael R. Perry (The Dead Zone, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit). Details are extremely sketchy at this point, with some saying the original cast members may return for the sequel (if you've seen Paranormal Activity then you're probably confused at this point), while others claim the plot takes place in a whole new setting. Tell us if it creeped you out or not.
